Dubbo Showground will play host to four premier national cattle events in the upcoming months, showcasing some of the top studs across the country.
Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Josh Black said the Dubbo Showground is a popular venue for agricultural events with 40 per cent of all events held there involving agriculture or animals.
"The Dubbo Showground has a proud history hosting national cattle shows and sales and is a hub for cattle excellence," Clr Black said.
The Dubbo Showground has recently hosted the National Shorthorn Show and Sale and will host the 65th Annual Dubbo Poll Hereford National Show and Sale on Tuesday 30 June.
In July the 2026 National Limousin Junior Show will be held between 9 to 12 July and the 20026 National Shorthorn Youth Expo will then be held between 2 to 4 October 2026.
These events are significant within the broader cattle industry and providing the opportunity for buyers to secure top-tier genetics.
Agricultural and animal-based events help bring visitors to the Dubbo region providing a boost to the local economy.
"People attending these events stay in accommodation, buy food and fuel up in our region all of which contribute greatly to our local economy," Clr Black said.
"The upcoming youth cattle events are a great opportunity for young people passionate about cattle to develop their skills and become the next generation of leaders in the beef industry," Clr Black said.
Over the past 12 months, the Dubbo Showground has hosted 121 events ranging from expos and entertainment to a wide variety of animal-based events, making it a consistently busy venue.
