New English and science buildings along with refurbishments to existing learning areas at Duncraig Senior High School are now complete.
The significant $43 million education infrastructure project includes a state-of-the-art two-storey science block, with 12 laboratories and preparation areas, and a two-storey English block with 17 classrooms.
Designed by With Architecture Studio and constructed by PS Structures, the new classroom blocks are connected by a covered bridge and terraced seating provides opportunities for outdoor learning.
Other major refurbishments at Duncraig Senior High School include a former science block converted into science, technology, engineering, and maths, and information technology laboratories, language classrooms transformed into four visual arts studios, and a former maths area which now provides dedicated staff study areas.
It forms part of the Cook Government's record investment of more than $5.4 billion in education infrastructure, ensuring Western Australian families and students have access to quality learning facilities.
As stated by Education Minister Sabine Winton:
"Duncraig Senior High School's new English learning block provides a vibrant space for collaboration, reflection, and debate.
"The next-generation science learning block is a modern, purpose-built hub, meeting the needs of a growing school.
"Generations of students will benefit from these new buildings and the learning environment they offer.
"Our government will continue to deliver quality infrastructure across our State to benefit students and families."
