During his time at RCH, Dr Sriniworn observed a wide range of advanced paediatric surgical procedures, with a focus on laparoscopic, colorectal and urological surgery. These experiences offered him valuable insights into modern minimally invasive techniques, surgical ergonomics and patient safety systems, many of which he hopes to adapt for use in resource-limited hospitals in Thailand.
The placement was made possible through the Weary Dunlop Boon Pong Fellowship, a collaboration between RACS Global Health and the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand. The program supports knowledge exchange and capacity building by enabling Thai scholars to gain exposure to Australian surgical practices.
Dr Sriniworn's placement not only strengthened clinical ties between Australia and Thailand but also highlighted the importance of global collaboration in improving surgical care across diverse healthcare settings.
