Easing of Covid restrictions

This statement was provided to the Geelong Advertiser, following the lifting of Victorian Government directions to work from home when possible.

CEO Martin Cutter

The City, along with many organisations, has recognised the benefits of workplace flexibility on productivity and community outcomes. We have a contemporary workplace model that combines office and remote work for our employees. This is now standard practice across employers that value their employees.
Our workforce, many of whom have been required to work remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, are excited to be able to return to an office to collaborate in person. The ability for all of our office-based employees to return to the office offers greater flexibility and choice for our teams.
Flexible working arrangements will differ across the organisation. However, face-to-face work and collaboration is a requirement of the City. Daily numbers will fluctuate but we expect hundreds of our employees to be working from our various City offices at any given time. More City employees returning to our central Geelong offices will also provide a welcome economic boost for small businesses in the CBD.
