Elderly man located - Bondi Junction

Good news!

An elderly man who went missing from Bondi Junction earlier today has been found safe and well.

The 89-year-old man left a home on Kenilworth Street, Bondi Junction, about 8.30am this morning (Saturday 11 March 2023), leaving a note stating he was going to Parramatta.

When he failed to return and could not be contacted, officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Family and police held concerns for the elderly man's welfare as he lives with dementia and other medical conditions. He had only recently moved to the area.

Following an extensive geo-targeting campaign covering the areas around Edgecliff and Town Hall railway stations, around 8.30pm, police located the missing man at Bondi Junction.

Police would like to thank the community and the media for their assistance.
