Midland Detectives have charged a youth as a result of their investigation into an incident that occurred in Ellenbrook on Wednesday, 24 July 2019.
About 11am, a 74-year-old man withdrew cash from an ATM situated at the entrance to a shopping centre located on Main Street. It is alleged as the man was walking away from the machine, the youth approached him from behind, bumped him and grabbed cash from the man's hands. During a scuffle they both fell to the ground.
Members of the public came to the victim's assistance as the youth fled with a sum of money.
The 16-year-old boy from Ellenbrook has been charged with Aggravated Robbery and is due to appear in the Perth Children's Court on 21 August 2019.
