Preston River to Ocean Regional Park and Leschenault Regional Park deliver on the McGowan Government's election commitment to maintain and improve environmental, recreational, social and cultural values for the residents of Bunbury and surrounds.

As stated by Environment Minister Stephen Dawson:

"The McGowan Government is proud to deliver on this election commitment to ensure the long-term preservation of much needed regional open space for the greater Bunbury area.

"We are seeking interest from community members who are committed to ensuring a balance between conservation, recreation and culture in providing long-term regional open space for residents and visitors.

"The conservation of 3,200 hectares of bushland is a great win for the community with the potential to significantly improve tourism and recreation facilities, and it is imperative that local community representation is central to the process."
