Evade Police Caversham in Charges, WA

Mirrabooka Detectives have charged a man resulting from an evade police incident in Caversham yesterday, Thursday 8 November 2018.


Police sighted a stolen white Nissan Juke on Benara Road around 3.40pm and attempted to intercept the vehicle using their emergency lights and sirens. It will be alleged the male driver refused to stop and accelerated, driving through the Caversham and Guildford areas. The vehicle struck a curb on Johnson Street Guildford, causing the vehicle to be inoperable. The male driver ran from the vehicle and the female passenger remained in the vehicle, WA Police say.


Police arrested the woman at the scene and chased the male on foot for some distance before arresting him around 1 kilometre away. A search of the vehicle was conducted by police and a number of items were located that are believed to be stolen. Both of the occupants of the vehicle, were taken to hospital. The male was discharged a short time later.


The driver of the alleged stolen vehicle, a 34 year old man from Mount Magnet, has been charged with:



Steal Motor Vehicle and Drive Recklessly



Reckless Driving



Fail to Stop



No Authority to Drive (Cancelled)



Drove, Caused or Permitted a Vehicle with a Forged, Replica or False Plate to be Driven on a Road



7 x Stealing



4 x Possession of Stolen or Unlawfully Obtained Property


The man has been charged with a total of 40 offences, including Assault Public Officer, Going Armed in a way to Case Fear and Frauds from previous incidents. He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Friday 9 November 2018.


The passenger, a woman in her 30’s, remains in hospital due to a pre-existing medical aliment and has not been charged with any offences.


Enquires are continuing into other property items located inside the vehicle.
