Excessive Speed and Exceed Prescribed Alcohol Limit - St Marys

At 3.44pm on Sunday 7/8/22 police were performing speed reduction duties on Esk Main Rd, between Fingal and St Marys when two motorcycles were observed travelling West on Esk Main Rd at excessive speed. Both motorcycles were travelling together, and their speed was checked on radar at 160km/h in the 100 zone.

The motorcycles were identified by police entering Fingal. A 49-year-old Fingal man was located and underwent a roadside breath test which gave a positive result. The male was conveyed to Fingal police station where he underwent a breath analysis.

The male was subsequently charged with exceed prescribed alcohol concentration and exceeding the speed limit. He has been bailed to appear in court at a later date. The motorcycle he was riding was seized for excessive speed.

Police are continuing enquiries in relation to the second rider.
