Cardinia Shire Council is excited to unveil the concept design for the Alma Treloar Dog Park in Cockatoo, developed with valuable input from the community.
In response to community engagement activities conducted in April and May 2025, Council have crafted a comprehensive design that prioritises the needs and preferences of local residents, dog owners and their furry friends.
The concept design features a variety of elements, including enhancements to the dog play space to create a more natural look and feel, a dedicated quiet dog area, seating, shade structures, drinking fountain, bins and accessible pathways, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all.
Cardinia Shire Mayor, Councillor Jack Kowarzik, encourages everyone to view the new design and share their thoughts.
"We're excited to present this concept design for the Alma Treloar Dog Park that reflects the aspirations of our community. Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for dogs and their owners to enjoy," said Mayor Kowarzik. "We want to hear from you, so please take a moment to share your thoughts and help us finalise the design."
Consultation on the Alma Treloar Dog Park concept design is open until 1 September. Community insights will help shape the final design.
