Exciting New Development Set To Change Face Of Bentley

The Cook Labor Government has today unveiled Stage 1 ofHeartwood Bentley, the first step in the creation of a major residential redevelopment project that is set to revitalise the suburb.

The new Bentley Redevelopment Master Plan and Scheme will guide the transformation of 21 hectares of government-owned land - once home to the Brownlie Towers and an abandoned sand quarry - into a modern, sustainable residential community.

Heartwood Bentley is long-term urban renewal project and the State Government has worked extensively to overcome constraints, including contamination from the old quarry.

Once complete, the redevelopment will deliver up to 1,000 new homes, including a mix of medium-density, terrace-style and apartment housing.

Stage 1 will deliver 41 residential lots and three development sites by the end of this month, with sales of some of the lots coming soon after.

The lots will be sized from 233 square metres, providing affordable homesites just 8 kilometres from Perth CBD.

Interested buyers can now register for sales updates via the DevelopmentWA website .

Shaped by community feedback, the Master Plan reflects a shared vision for a greener, safer and more connected Bentley, with high-quality public spaces and a focus on sustainability.

The Master Plan sets a target of 30 per cent urban tree canopy and one in seven social homes, ensuring the community remains inclusive and accessible to all Western Australians.

DevelopmentWA has already supported activation of the area, with the popular Manning Road Farmers Market now operating from Hedley Park, bringing local energy and foot traffic into the precinct.

As stated by Planning and Lands Minister John Carey:

"The Bentley Redevelopment Master Plan sets a bold vision to transform this underused site, including where the Brownlie Towers once stood.

"Heartwood Bentley brings that vision to life, creating a connected, liveable and sustainable new neighbourhood.

"Delivering more homes for Western Australians remains a key priority, and it's great to see Stage 1 lots soon released and works almost complete.

"Our government is delivering on a number of large scale urban renewal projects, including at Bentley, Beaconsfield and the site of the old Stirling Towers.

"These projects increase housing supply and deliver more vibrancy and amenity to existing communities."
