Exeter Subjects Excel in Global Rankings

Two subject areas at the University of Exeter now feature in the top 100 of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject.

Psychology now ranks at 87, with Arts and Humanities at 95, in the ranking of 11 major subject areas.

Eight Exeter subjects now feature in the top 200 in the world, with Business and Economics, Education Studies, Life Sciences, Medicine and Health, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences in addition to the top two.

Psychology, Business and Economics, Social Sciences and Computer Science all saw an increase in ranking from last year.

Professor Lisa Roberts, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter, said: "I'm delighted to see these results, and to see both Psychology and Arts and Humanities achieve global top 100 status. The rankings evaluate university performance across more than 2,000 institutions, across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook. They include millions of citations and research publications, and the responses of surveys from more than 93,000 scholars globally.

Overall, the University of Exeter was ranked in the top 200 globally in the THE World University Rankings, coming in at 170.
