The University of Exeter and the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) have signed an agreement to strengthen their research collaboration, both nationally and internationally, over the next five years.
The organisations will work together on a wide range of subjects including nature recovery, pollution monitoring, invasive species and sustainable farming.
"This agreement will further strengthen the long-standing collaboration between the University of Exeter and UKCEH," said Professor Lisa Roberts, Exeter's President and Vice-Chancellor.
"One of the core priorities set out in our Strategy 2030 is the need to lead meaningful action against the climate emergency and ecological crisis.
"By working with partners such as UKCEH, we can realise this ambition, and ensure that we tackle this vital challenge to create a better environment both in the UK and across the world."
Dr Stuart Wainwright, Chief Executive of UKCEH, said: "We are excited to be strengthening our ongoing partnership with the University of Exeter.
"This builds on the existing collaborations between our teams addressing key environmental challenges that we face, such as hydro-climate risks and biodiversity loss.
"We look forward to expanding the research that we do together and maximising the opportunities that this brings for scientists, students and the environment."
