Family First Taps Napoleoni for Kiama By-election

Family First Party

Family First today announced small businessman and father of two Kyle Napoleoni as its candidate for the Kiama by-election to be held on Saturday, September 13. Kyle grew up in the Illawarra region where he continues to live with his young family.

The grandson of Italian migrants who came to Australia to work in the steelworks, he brings a deep appreciation for hard work, family, and the blessings of our nation. His professional journey has been as diverse as it has been grounded in the realities faced by local families — he is a qualified boilermaker, has worked as a coal miner, and served as a project manager. Today he operates his own small business as a video editor, giving him a direct understanding of the challenges facing small business owners.

"For me, family flourishing is mums and dads raising their kids in safety and security, free from harmful woke ideologies and government overreach," Kyle Napoleoni said. "That's why I'm standing with Family First — to fight for our families, our children, and our freedoms." Kyle is a husband, father, and committed Christian who serves actively in his local church and men's ministry. Having personally faced adversity, he credits his strong family and faith foundation with giving him the courage and conviction to serve. If elected, Kyle Napoleoni has pledged to:

  • Protect children from radical gender ideology and champion parental rights in education.
  • Defend life from conception to natural death, and challenge NSW abortion laws that allow abortion up to birth.
  • Restore freedom of speech, religion, and parental authority that are under constant attack.
  • Tackle cost-of-living pressures by opposing reckless net zero policies that drive up power prices and by fighting to make housing more affordable through cutting red tape and releasing more land.
  • Promote marriage and family as the foundation of a healthy society.

"Families need champions in parliament who will not bow to political correctness or harmful ideologies. I want to be that voice for Kiama," Mr Napoleoni said.

Family First National Director, Lyle Shelton, welcomed Kyle's candidacy. "Kyle represents a new generation of young families flocking to Family First because they know the major parties have let families down. They can't even define a woman, let alone know what good family policy is.

"Kyle has the courage and conviction our party stands for. He will be a strong advocate for families in Kiama and a principled voice in public life."
