Fans urged to support cancer research

Fans attending the Manchester United v AC Milan clash in Cardiff on Saturday are being urged to support vital Cardiff University cancer research.

Matchgoers are invited to donate as they enter the Principality Stadium for the International Champions Cup fixture.

Cardiff University researchers, students, staff and alumni will be on hand with a bucket collection. All funds received will directly support vital research into better treatment, diagnosis and prevention of cancer.

The cause was chosen by match hosts, the Welsh Rugby Union.

Professor John Chester, Cancer Research Theme Lead at Cardiff University, said: "Your support will enable Cardiff University's cancer researchers to make further strides towards improved diagnosis and treatment for the benefit of cancer patients. Thank you!"

TJ Rawlinson, Director of Development and Alumni Relations, said: "We're very grateful to the WRU Group for the opportunity to fundraise on Saturday, to the volunteers who will help us, and to the donors who will support us. Together our community can help tackle cancer.
