A 24-year-old female has died after the car she was driving was struck by another vehicle in Knuckey Lagoon earlier today.
NT Police received reports of a crash on McMillans Road around midday and emergency services attended.
The female was trapped in her vehicle and died at the scene.
Initial indications are that the other vehicle was on the wrong side of the road.
A 17-year-old male is in custody and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit attended and continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
