A driver has died following a multi-vehicle crash in the state's west today.
Just after 8.20am (Wednesday 20 May 2026), emergency services were called to the intersection of Dansons Road and Sturt Highway in Trentham Cliffs, 10km north-east of Mildura, following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Barrier Police District attended the scene and were told a van had rear-ended a vehicle, causing the vehicle to collide with a B-double truck travelling the opposite way.
Ambulance Victoria paramedics treated a man aged in his 40s; however, he died at the scene.
There were no other injuries reported.
A driver has been taken to Mildura Base Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Barrier Police District have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
