Fatal pedestrian crash at Wollongong

A woman has died after a crash in Wollongong earlier this week.

About 9.30pm on Tuesday 13 December 2022, emergency services were called to Church Street, Wollongong, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics who treated a 27-year-old woman.

The driver – a 35-year-old woman – was uninjured and subject to a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a negative result.

The 27-year-old woman was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition, where she later died as a result of her injuries.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.
