Fatal pedestrian incident at Eimeo

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Eimeo tonight.

Preliminary investigations indicate, around 7.20pm, a car collided with a woman on Eimeo Road.

The 33-year-old woman was treated for critical injuries but died at the scene.

The driver was not physically harmed and is assisting police with investigations.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for anyone in the vicinity of Eimeo Road between 7 and 7.30pm who may have witnessed the incident, who may have dash cam footage or who noticed a white Commodore station wagon parked on the side of Eimeo road, to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
