Federal Funding Boosts Active Transportation Safety in Roseau River First Nation

Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada

The Government of Canada is investing $2.6 million in multi-use pathways to create safer, more accessible transportation options for people walking and cycling in Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation.

The project will include pedestrian road crossings, energy-efficient LED lighting, signage, benches and tree plantings to improve safety and accessibility along the new pathways.

The new routes will connect key community amenities and services for youth, seniors, people with disabilities, pedestrians and cyclists. The project will also support Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation's broader active transportation network and promote healthy, active travel.
