Today, Jenica Atwin, Member of Parliament for Fredericton, announced an investment of $181,786 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) for the Capital Winter Club. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA. The City of Fredericton is also providing $75,000 toward the project.
This funding helped the venue to improve its kitchen and dining hall and construct gender neutral change rooms and washrooms. The upgrades will allow the club to host more community events and activities in an inclusive space that encourages the participation of under-recognized groups.
