Final Draft Budget 2023/24 Info Session for Community

The City of Ballarat is encouraging community members to learn more about the Draft Budget 2023/24 by attending the final community information session on Tuesday evening online from 5-6pm.

The community information session, which will provide residents with an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback, is one of two sessions. The other community information session was held in-person last week at Ballarat Town Hall.

The sessions form part of the community consultation process for the Draft Budget 2023/24, which was endorsed by Council at the April Council Meeting.

To attend the Community Information Session, please email Executive Manager Financial Services Jason Clissold at [email protected] by 3pm on Tuesday, to be provided with a link to the online session.

In addition to attending the community information sessions, Ballarat residents can provide feedback on the Draft Budget by visiting the City of Ballarat MySay website. Alternatively, residents can submit feedback in writing by posting to the following address:

Executive Manager Financial Services

City of Ballarat

PO Box 655

The consultation period opened on Friday 28 April and will close Friday 19 May.

Members of the community who provide feedback on the Draft Budget can also request to be heard at the Unscheduled Council Meeting on Wednesday 7 June at 6.30pm.

Following the public exhibition period, the Draft Budget 2023/24 will go before Councillors at the scheduled June Council Meeting.

City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Des Hudson said the preparation of the annual Draft Budget was an important process that focuses on the needs and priorities of the community.

"I'd encourage all residents to take some time to read the Draft Budget 2023/24, understand how the City of Ballarat is allocating funding and to provide their feedback," he said.

Residents can read the Draft Budget 2023/24 on the City of Ballarat website.
