Firstly, this cold front and trough that's going to bring in rain and storms to south-western WA. Hot and humid conditions, bringing showers and storms across our tropical north, and a deepening trough through inland parts of Queensland and New South Wales will also bring showers and thunderstorms there.
While this very large high pressure system will keep things fine, warm and mostly sunny in the south-east. But let's have a look at all of that in more detail.
Firstly, in Queensland, and we can see we've got a southerly change moving up the coast and a deepening inland trough through here, through central and inland parts of Queensland. That's going to bring widespread showers and thunderstorms.
Some of these could be severe as well, with heavy rainfall, and we also could see some good falls around the Central Coast as well. Pretty hot west of that trough, temperatures in the low to mid 30s, and also across far northern Queensland as well, and in the north, temperatures further south in the low 20s, in the south-east, mid to high 20s for the rest of the Queensland coast.
Showers and thunderstorms for central, eastern and southern inland areas, but kind of missing much of south-eastern Queensland with cooler conditions there with a few coastal showers. Brisbane looking at 24 °C and a few showers. Moving down into New South Wales.
You can see these coastal showers in the morning through many of our coastal areas, but they'll slowly ease, and then we'll see that trough deepen through northern inland areas to bring showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening.
And some of those could be severe as well, with maybe some showers picking up along our ranges as well through the east. Otherwise, the far south and the far west will stay fine and partly cloudy. Cooler in the south and on the coast, as you can see here. I'll just get out of the way there.
Temperatures in the high teens to low 20s on the coastal areas, and for a lot of our inland areas as well, due to the cloud cover, a little bit warmer out in the far north-west. Sydney looking at a couple of showers and 20 °C. Canberra. A cold, frosty start, then a partly cloudy day and 18 °C.
Moving down into Victoria, and they'll be under the influence of the high pressure system. So we're going to see temperatures generally here in the mid to high teens through southern areas, low 20s in northern areas. There will be a fine and mostly sunny day.
Notice that rainfall in New South Wales just staying north of the Murray River there, with partly cloudy skies state wide. Pretty windy, though, for our coastal areas. Melbourne looking at a partly cloudy day, 21 °C. Cloudy in the morning but a sunny afternoon. Moving down into Tasmania, again under that high pressure system.
We're going to see temperatures there in the mid to high teens. Maybe just a few light showers. You can see here through our coastal areas. Otherwise, it should be a fine and partly cloudy day for many. Hobart looking at 16 °C.
A bit more cloudy, though, with those southerly winds backing up the cloud along the coast. More sunshine in the north and east.
Moving up into South Australia, and we're now west of this inland trough in New South Wales and Queensland. So that means dry and sunny weather right across the state, just apart from a few clouds in the south-east.
And then towards the evening, you'll see the next weather system moving into far western parts of South Australia at night, with showers and thunderstorms there. Temperatures in the mid to high 20s in the north and low 20s in the south. Generally 5 to 8 °C below average for this time of year for some locations.
Adelaide. Looking a lovely day, 22 °C and mostly sunny skies, I should say.
Moving over into WA, and they'll be feeling the impacts of that cold front moving through in the morning through the south-west and then through much of southern Western Australia during the day and into the evening.
That'll bring a band of showers, patchy rain, thunderstorms as well, also possible as it moves through, and then cooler, gusty winds behind that as well. As you can see, out ahead of it. Temperatures in the high 20s to low 30s.
While near and behind that system, you can see temperatures here in the high teens to low 20s, and getting up into the mid to high 20s in the north and getting into the 30s through northern areas.
Perth looking at a wet and stormy day, showers, thunderstorms, gusty winds and 22 °C. Moving up into the tropical north.
And we're starting to see the build-up really starting to pick up across our northern areas, with afternoon showers and thunderstorms and temperatures also on the increase as well.
Also, a very stormy few days in the southern parts of the NT. That's going to continue again through those western areas, with showers and thunderstorms also becoming more widespread across northern parts, the Top End and the Kimberley as well.
You can see here Kununurra and Katherine, all seeing temperatures in the high 30s, with possible thunderstorms likely there. Darwin looking at 33 °C, hot and humid, and maybe an afternoon shower and thunderstorm about as well. So watch out for that.
