Firearm, war medal, drugs and cash seized, investigations continue, NSW

Police have seized a firearm and a stolen war medal during a vehicle search in Sydney’s south west last night, NSW Police say.

About 9.50pm yesterday, police were called to a car park on Denman Avenue, Wiley Park, following a noise complaint.

Officers from Campsie Local Area Command attended and located a white Mazda 121 with three people inside – two boys, aged 15 and 17, and a 15-year-old girl.

Police spoke to the teenagers, before searching them and the vehicle.

During the search, they located and seized parts of a firearm and an armed services medal.

Police can confirm the medal was stolen during a break and enter at a home on Clio Street, Wiley Park on Friday 25 March 2016.

The 15-year-old girl and 17-year-old boys were arrested, however, released pending further inquiries.

A second vehicle, a red Honda Accord was also located in the car park with three males, aged 17 and two aged 19, inside.

Police spoke to the occupants and conducted a search of them and the car, where they located and seized cannabis, cash and mobile phones.

Investigations are ongoing.
