Firearms and improvised explosive devices located near Wagga Wagga, NSW

Police continue to make inquiries into the origins of firearms and improvised explosive devices which were located in bushland near Wagga Wagga, NSW Police say.

About 1.15pm yesterday, police were making inquiries in bushland at Nangus, when they located firearms and improvised explosive devices at the location.

The items were covered by leaves.

Officers seized the items, and the Bomb Disposal Unit was called into the area to assist with investigations.

A crime scene has also been established while police make inquiries into the origins of the items.

The incident is not believed to be counter terrorism related.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
