Today, Thursday 19 February 2026, Griffith City Council was notified of a fish kill at Lake Wyangan South.
The incident has been reported to the NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) and the Department of Primary Industries (DPI). Water samples have been collected for testing, and monitoring has now begun on North Lake.
Preliminary observations indicate the affected fish are European Carp. No native species have been identified at this stage.
There is no further information at this time, but Council will provide updates as they become available.
