Local mother of three, former physio and public policy professional Clare Fitzmaurice has been endorsed as the Liberal Party candidate for the electorate of Monbulk.
Ms Fitzmaurice's interest in politics began early, completing work experience with a state MP while still in high school. She went on to build a 15‑year career as a physiotherapist before transitioning into health policy, public policy and political advisory roles.
She will contest the outer eastern Melbourne seat at the state election in November.
"I feel a strong sense of duty to serve others and to do meaningful work that benefits individuals and the community," Ms Fitzmaurice said.
"If elected as part of a Liberal–National Coalition government we will deliver Victoria a fresh start."
"I'll work tirelessly every day as a local member to represent the people of Monbulk in whatever role I have the privilege of serving in."
Her diverse professional background reflects her long‑held belief that Parliament should represent the breadth of real‑world experience found in the community.
"I've worked in hospitals, in primary health, in national advocacy organisations and now in federal politics. I've seen firsthand how policy decisions affect people's lives. I want to bring everyday voices into Parliament."
"I joined the Liberal Party during COVID because I was concerned about Victoria's direction and wanted to help improve our state from within a major party. Now that my children are older, it's the right time to put my hand up to serve."
Ms Fitzmaurice said her life experience as a parent, professional and mortgage‑holder gives her a strong connection to the challenges facing families across Monbulk.
"I understand the pressures of raising a family in the current economic, political and social climate. I will listen to their concerns and fight for the issues that matter most to them."
She said she is determined to be an active, hardworking representative.
"I'm not afraid to stand up for the community. We need to give Victorians hope and reclaim pride in our state and opportunity so everyone who lives and works here has a brighter future."
Ms Fitzmaurice believes the Liberal–National Coalition offers the best path forward for Victoria.
"Victoria deserves better and I believe only a Liberal–National government can deliver that," she said.
