Five Dock Library to receive $210K grant funding

The City of Canada Bay's Five Dock Library is set to receive a $210,000 grant as part of the NSW Government's Public Library Infrastructure Grant program to improve public library spaces for local communities.

The grant will be used to fund our Making the Most of Five Dock Library project, which aims to improve opportunities for community interaction and participation at the library.

This funding will allow Council to reconfigure spaces in Five Dock Library in order to increase its flexibility and capacity to run larger programs, and therefore better accommodate the area's growing population. It will also go towards new seating and the installation of an improved service desk, which will free up additional space for community use.

The City of Canada Bay Libraries team is delighted with the successful grant application and looking forward to getting to work on this project, which will modernise the library to meet the needs of our diverse community now and into the future.

The Public Library Infrastructure Grants program is administered by the State Library of NSW on behalf of the Library Council of NSW. All NSW councils were invited to apply for grants in August 2021. The City of Canada Bay was one of 26 councils to receive a grant to enhance its library services and facilities.
