Five people dead after crash in Sydney's southwest

Five people have died following a single vehicle crash in Sydney's southwest this evening.

About 8pm (Tuesday 6 September 2022), emergency services were called to the intersection of Orange Road and East Parade, Buxton, following reports a Nissan Utility had left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, an 18-year-old man, was located suffering non-life threatening injuries.

Three female and two male passengers all believed to be of similar age, died at the scene.

The driver was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command established a crime scene, which is being examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
