Officers from the Queensland Police Service (QPS) along with State Emergency Service (SES) personnel remain deployed throughout flood affected communities in the Bundaberg and Chinchilla regions.
An additional 20 QPS officers have been deployed to Bundaberg, including Water Police from Brisbane, to assist with flood recovery efforts and evacuations.
Around 10am Wednesday, 11 March, police were called to an inundated residence in Bundaberg North, following reports a 39-year-old male occupant was unable to leave.
Water police, alongside Queensland Fire Department swiftwater rescue crews, were able to safely evacuate the man and his pet dog.
Separately, police and SES crews safely evacuated a woman in her 80s from her residence, following the declaration of a PSPA in Chinchilla on Wednesday, 11 March.
Around 11.15pm, officers were conducting welfare checks in the region when they were called to assist an 85-year-old woman who needed to evacuate her residence.
Police and the SES were able to successfully retrieve the woman and transported her to a nearby evacuation centre via boat.
No injuries were reported in either evacuation.
