Foreign Affairs Minister to visit Ukraine

The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that she will conduct a working visit to Ukraine on May 8, 2019.

Following the recent presidential elections in Ukraine, the Minister will meet with President Petro Poroshenko, president-elect Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, to discuss Canada's support for the people of Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Canada will co-host the Ukraine Reform Conference in Toronto from July 2 to 4, 2019, with the Government of Ukraine. This conference will bring together international friends and partners to work with Ukraine as it moves ahead with critical economic and democratic reforms.
