A statewide, high visibility policing, Operation Yankee Forge, has marked its first month of action, forging across the state to make communities safer.
Targeting high harm offending, in high crime locations police focussed on preventing, disrupting and investigating unlawful use, robbery and unlawful entry offences.
In one month, Operation Yankee Forge has seen great results across the three crime offences, including:
- 1,317 people charged
- 815 Adult offenders
- 502 Juvenile offenders.
- 2,972 charges
- 1541 Adult charges
- 1431 Juvenile charges.
Deputy Commissioner Regional Operations John Tims said the results are a good start, with more positive results expected over the next five months.
"In our next month of action, we will continue to combine high‑visibility local policing with specialist and investigative capabilities to hold perpetrators to account," Deputy Commissioner Tims said.
"Queenslanders can expect to see increased community engagement with high visibility patrols both on the road network and in public spaces.
"I would like to thank the incredible work our people do each day and will continue to do during this operation."
