Former employee in court over fraud totalling nearly $500,000 - Moorebank

A woman will appear in court today charged over an alleged fraud totalling nearly $500,000.

In April this year, officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports funds had been misappropriated from a Moorebank business which distributes healthcare equipment.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 37-year-old woman in a carpark on The Northern Road, Bringelly, just before 10am on Thursday 1 July 2021.

She was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with 18 counts of make false document to obtain financial advantage.

Police will allege in court that the woman, who was a former employee, transferred a total of $484,670 into personal bank accounts on more than 40 occasions between December 2019 and April 2021.

The Narellan Vale woman was granted bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Monday 12 July 2021).
