Former netball coach charged over sexual touching of three girls

A former netball coach from Sydney's south has been charged over the alleged sexual touching of three teenage girls.

In October this year, detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad established Strike Force Biscoe to investigate reports three teenage girls had been sexually touched by a man who was known to them.

Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 70-year-old man at Kogarah Police Station just before 11.30am last Friday (18 December 2020).

A search warrant was subsequently executed at a home at Beverly Hills, where officers seized documentation.

The man, who is a former netball coach, was charged with eight counts of intentionally sexually touch child (between 10 and 16 years) and attempt intentionally sexually touch child (between 10 and 16 years).

Police will allege in court that the man sexually touched three teenage girls – then aged between 12 and 15 – at netball courts in Sydney's south between March 2019 and September 2020.

He appeared at Sutherland Local Court on Friday 18 December 2020, where he was granted strict conditional bail to reappear at the same court on Tuesday 19 January 2021.

Investigations under Strike Force Biscoe are continuing.
