MidCoast Council
The Forster Main Beach Fence Replacement project has experienced a delay that has seen the completion date pushed back to March 2026.
MidCoast Council had originally hoped the completion of the project would align with the beginning of the school holidays. Engineering issues associated with the existing fence post installations has impacted that.
Council will implement a stop-work period over the Christmas and January school holidays to minimise disruption to beachgoers, local businesses, and the community during the busiest time of the year.
Work on the site will continue until Christmas, with the goal of installing as much of the new fencing as possible before the pause. Work will then resume after the Australia Day long weekend, with a revised completion date of March 2026.
