The $25 million Finley Hospital Redevelopment has reached a significant milestone, with major foundation works now complete following two concrete pours.
The concrete pours form the foundations of the new expanded inpatient unit, and hospital entrance and reception area, marking major progress on site and an important step towards delivering enhanced healthcare facilities for the Finley and Southern Riverina community.
The Minns Labor Government's $25 million Finley Hospital Redevelopment represents one of the major health infrastructure investments in the Southern Riverina, and will improve access to medical imaging, emergency care and inpatient services for residents of Finley and surrounding communities.
The redevelopment will provide modern, fit-for-purpose facilities designed to support the current and future healthcare needs of the region. The project includes:
- new Medical Imaging Unit
- upgrades to the Emergency Department
- an expanded inpatient unit
- a new main hospital entry with a larger reception space
- refurbished clinical and public areas.
The next stage of the redevelopment will include the installation of the building's structure, enabling the new facilities to begin taking shape above ground.
All hospital services, including the Emergency Department, continue to operate throughout construction. Patients, visitors and staff will continue to access the hospital via the temporary main entry and Emergency Department entrance at the eastern end of the campus, with access available from Dawe Street.
The safety of patients, visitors, staff and the wider community remains the highest priority throughout the construction program, with traffic management and environmental controls in place to minimise disruption.
The redevelopment is expected to be completed in 2027.
The Minns Labor Government is investing $11.9 billion to deliver more beds and expanded services across 32 new or upgraded health facilities in NSW as part of the 2026-27 budget. This includes nearly $3 billion over four years for hospitals across regional NSW.
