Four injured during brawl at Albury

Police are appealing for information after four people were injured during a brawl at Albury overnight.

About 1.45am (Friday 1 January 2021), emergency services were called to Kemp Street, Lavington, following reports of a number of people – armed with knives and bottles – were fighting.

Police have been told a group of people were inside a unit on the street when another group walked past, and they became involved in a fight.

During the incident, a 17-year-old boy sustained a leg injury, a 17-year-old girl and a 22-year-old woman sustained head injuries, and a 20-year-old woman sustained a cut to her hand.

They were all taken to Albury Base Hospital for treatment.

Officers from Murray River Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
