- Four new homes in Bilingurr for Government Regional Officer Housing
- Homes built by Broome-based companies, helping to create local jobs
The Cook Labor Government is in the final stages of completingconstruction of an additional four homes for Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) in Broome in the West Kimberley.
The four-bedroom homes were delivered by Broome-based builders, B&S Impact Constructions and CWD Builders - Developers, and were built to a 7-star NatHERS energy efficiency rating.
The GROH program provides housing for government employees including teachers, nurses, police and child protection workers in regional locations to ensure delivery of essential government services.
At the recent election, the Cook Government committed to bolstering the GROH program by $104 million in this term of Government.
As stated by Housing and Works Minister John Carey:
"Ensuring regional communities have access to critical State Government workers, such as teachers and police officers, is essential for achieving strong communities.
"Another four GROH properties in Broome will provide secure housing to our vital government workers delivering crucial services to the local community."
