Free Cat Desexing For Concession Card Holders

Eligible concession card holders can save money getting their cats desexed, microchipped and their first year of registration for free.

A Corangamite Shire Council program has been extended at participating vet clinics in Corangamite Shire:

  • Terang Veterinary Clinic

    20 Estcourt St, Terang

    5592 2111

  • Hampden Veterinary Clinic

    22 Curdie St Cobden

    5595 1100

  • Camperdown Veterinary Centre

    1 Leura St, Camperdown

    5593 1077

  • The Vet Group

    99 Bailey St, Timboon

    5558 6666

Council Local Laws Officer Jasmine Pugh encouraged eligible cat owners to make the most of the offer.

"Desexing your cat can help reduce unwanted litters and the number of feral cats across the Shire.

"Microchipping means if your cat does go wandering, we can reunite you straight away rather than impounding them which causes distress and might cost you in fees or fines."

To be eligible, householders must have a concession card, be a Corangamite resident and their cat must be microchipped and registered, or be willing to have their pet microchipped and registered at the time of desexing.

Any additional veterinary costs outside the desexing/microchipping services (such as vaccinations) are not covered and must be paid by the owner.
