Following an overwhelmingly successful event in 2025, South East Community Links (SECL) is bringing its Bring Your Bills Day back to Pakenham this year.
Held at Pakenham Hall on Tuesday 21 April, from 10:30am to 3:00pm, the event invites community members to access free, confidential guidance and support to help navigate household bills and other financial pressures.
Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics with SECL's dedicated financial counsellors, receive direct support with bills, fines, loans, mortgages, and utilities. Understand renters' and financial rights with expert advice and speak to banks, utility companies and Ombudsman services and legal support.
Cardinia Shire Mayor, Councillor Brett Owen said SECL provides an essential service for Cardinia Shire residents.
"Our partnership with SECL ensures Cardinia Shire residents have greater access to vital support, particularly for those experiencing financial hardship. SECL plays a critical role in delivering free and confidential financial counselling locally, a service that is incredibly valuable to our community" Mayor Owen said.
"Our July 2025 Bring Your Bills Day helped resolve more than $2.4 million in debt for over 450 community members in a single day. We strongly encourage our community to come along and make the most of this important event."
To support Cardinia's diverse community, bi‑lingual staff and interpreters will be available on the day. Children's activities will also be provided to help families attend. Food and beverages will also be available.
No bookings are required. Residents are welcome to drop in at any time though wait times may apply.
