Free Food Safety Seminar Helps Local Businesses

MidCoast Council

MidCoast Council invites all food businesses to a free seminar on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.

If you own, manage, or are thinking of starting a food business, this seminar is for you. It can equip you and your staff with essential skills and knowledge in food safety and hygiene.

The seminar will cover the new Food Standards Code 3.2.2A, which requires all food handlers—chefs, cooks, wait staff, and others—to be properly trained in safe food handling practices.

Every attendee will receive a certificate of attendance, helping your business demonstrate compliance with the new standard.

You'll hear from a line-up of expert presenters with over 50 years' combined experience in food safety – including a former chef!

MidCoast Council is proud to have won the NSW Food Authority's Food Regulation Partnership Champion Award 2025 (Country category) for excellence in food surveillance and education.

Council supports local businesses through seminars, training videos, newsletters, and one-on-one advice — helping local businesses stay up to date with food safety requirements and equipping staff with the latest food safety knowledge. This support has helped businesses work towards an excellent 'Scores on Doors' rating, which is widely recognised in the food industry.

Safe food handling benefits everyone. It protects customers, boosts consumer confidence, and encourages repeat business in the region.

The seminar will be held at MidCoast Council Customer Service and Administration Centre, Yalawanyi Ganya, 2 Biripi Way, Taree NSW 2430. Places are limited, so reserve your spot today at https://www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/food-safety-seminars.

Note: This seminar does not qualify attendees for a Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
