Music lovers of all ages are invited to enjoy a summer evening by the river with two free live performances by Melbourne-based string quartet Cedar Collective at the Port of Echuca Pop‑Up Park this Saturday night, 24 January.
Part of the diverse Wonderland on the Murray program of entertainment, Cedar Collective will perform two one‑hour sets, at 6.30pm and 8.30pm, offering audiences the chance to experience their rich, engaging sound in a relaxed outdoor setting complemented by spectacular giant sand sculptures that form the Wonderland on the Murray trail.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell said the performances were a great opportunity for community members to get together and enjoy live music in a unique setting.
"The Port of Echuca Pop‑Up Park is a fantastic space for people to relax and connect, and Cedar Collective's performances will create a wonderful atmosphere for a summer evening by the river," Cr Mackrell said.
"We encourage everyone to come along, bring a rug or chair and some food, and enjoy a night of free live music in the heart of the port precinct."
Cedar Collective's violinists Jessica Leigh and Sara Barbagallo, violist Edmund Mantelli, and cellist Sarah Wang will guide audiences through a one-hour musical adventure where the familiar becomes fantastical, with songs and iconic themes from the likes of Coldplay, Fleetwood Mac, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Taylor Swift and Queen reimagined for string quartet.
