The live action sports theatrical spectacular is set to explode in 2026 with a six-country, 50-show world tour, which will descend onto Wade Park on Saturday 4 April, for a night Orange will never forget.
Billed as a fun for all ages, family friendly show, Freestyle Kings Live features the best riders on the planet across Freestyle Motocross and BMX and is headlined by the first family of action sports, the modern-day Evel Knievel Robbie Maddison, and his two sons 14-year-old Kruz, and 11-year-old Jagger. Whilst Robbie is the face of the Freestyle Kings brand, his two sons are its future.
"At 43 years old, it is no secret that I am closer to the end of my freestyle motocross career then I am to the start. My accomplishments on a dirt bike have been beyond my wildest dreams, but by far my greatest achievement is watching my three boys share the same passion I have for this sport, and to see them push through the nerves and perform in sell out shows across the globe. They are little showmen at heart, and whilst I might be a bit bias, I think it's the favourite part of the show for the crowd," Robbie Maddison said.
"For us he is just Dad. We weren't alive for his first big jumps, but he always shows us on YouTube and tells us how cool he used to be," Kruz joked.
"Mum comes to all our shows, she is our biggest cheerleader although she is probably more nervous than us when it comes to our turn to jump in the show," Jagger added.
Orange City Council is providing a $15,000 sponsorship pack to support the event.
It's not just the Maddison family descending onto Orange's Wade Park, with 20 times X-Games Gold Medallist and current back-to-back freestyle motocross World Champion Rob Adelberg leading an all-star international FMX and BMX crew.
"I'm from Regional Victoria and my dirt bike has taken me all over the world for the last 20 years, and I can tell you, there is no better crowd to ride in front of than in places like Orange. Make no mistake, this is the best riders on the planet, who will be throwing down tricks that need to be seen to be believed," Adelberg said.
Whilst at first glance, it would seem an odd decision to include Orange on the Freestyle Kings World Tour, Freestyle Kings Promoter Josh Hannah said Regional Australia is at the very forefront of our thinking when it comes to live events.
"Regional Australia has a deep affinity and love for all things dirt bike and BMX, so it just made sense for us to take this tour to areas that wouldn't traditionally get this type of world class entertainment. Whilst we have our rider line up come in from across Australia and the USA, we source everything else locally in Orange, from food & beverage, to ushers, security, machinery and everything else needed to pull off a show like this. We obviously get a lot out of these shows, but we like to think we give a lot back to a regional centre like Orange," he said
A show of this magnitude has an estimated economic impact of half a million dollars, as calculated by the "beds and heads" method.
Orange City Council was instrumental in bringing the Freestyle Kings Live Show to the region, with a proactive approach with the Promoter.
"For us this is an opportunity for the City of Orange to present itself on the world stage, as we host this group of death-defying thrill seekers. It's our chance to show this city and region does deserve more world class touring acts. We cannot wait to host the Freestyle Kings next April," Orange Mayor Tony Mileto said.
Tickets go on sale August 28th through Ticketek.
