FRINGE WORLD paints town pink

The City of Perth is about to turn pink this coming Friday 15 January as FRINGE WORLD launches for 2021 and celebrates turning 10.

Perth landmarks, shops, businesses and streets will come alive with the colour pink to celebrate as Fringe transforms the city.

“We’re excited to once again sponsor FRINGE WORLD for 2021, helping to support the city’s economy, cultural industry and most importantly, the local artists,” City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said.

“Each year, hundreds of thousands of people enjoy the incredible array of entertainment on offer and it is always so amazing to see the city bursting with colour, entertainment and vibrancy. This time is even more meaningful as we celebrate how lucky we are to be hosting such a magnificent event in the streets of Perth.

“We look forward to seeing Western Australians come out in their droves to support the artists who are putting on an amazing show throughout our city venues, including The Woodside Pleasure Garden and the Girls School in East Perth.”

As part of the annual sponsorship, the City is hosting the City of Perth Power Hour at Yagan Square every Saturday and Sunday from 5pm.

Featuring a unique selection of highlights, the Power Hour is a snack-pack of the best things on offer this FRINGE WORLD Festival.

“Power Hour is a fantastic opportunity for our audiences to get a taste of all things Fringe,” FRINGE WORLD Festival Director, Amber Hasler said.

“Whether you’re new to FRINGE WORLD or a Fringe binger, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Power Hour would not be possible without the valuable support of City of Perth, who have supported Power Hour since 2019.”

The City of Perth also supports Fringey Offers, FRINGE WORLD’s business engagement program. You can view all Fringey Offers currently available here.

The 2021 FRINGE WORLD Festival runs January 15 January to 14 February at more than 100 venues, with more than 500 shows on sale via the website or the FRINGE World app.
