- Demonstrates Cook Government's commitment to ensuring every Western Australian has a home
The Cook Labor Government's Infrastructure Development Fund (IDF) will support the delivery of 1,500 new apartments in priority infill locations across metropolitan Perth.
Seventeen new projects will benefit from the Infrastructure Development Fund's Stream 1 - Targeted Apartment Rebate program.
The fund assists with the upfront costs of connecting eligible developments to essential water, wastewater, and electricity services.
The latest allocation of funding is set to support the delivery of apartments close to transport links and activity centres including areas such as Wellard, Warwick, and Canning Vale.
By addressing infrastructure constraints, this initiative enables the timely delivery of medium to high-density residential development, supporting urban consolidation and enhanced housing diversity.
Stream 1 of the fund has to date supported 129 apartment projects, supporting the delivery of up to 9,500 new dwellings across metropolitan Perth.
Applications for Stream 1 and Stream 2 - Unlocking Infill Precincts are open until 31 December 2025 or until funds are exhausted.
