Scholarships to attend Forestry Australia's 2026 Symposium

Financial support is available for early-career and Indigenous Australian forestry practitioners, researchers and students.

Forestry Australia and the Australian Forest and Wood Innovations Centre for Climate-Smart Forestry (AFWI CCSF) are offering scholarship opportunities to support early-career professionals or Indigenous Australians to attend Forestry Australia's 2026 Symposium in Canberra.

We are offering scholarships across the following two categories.

Early-Career Scholarships (3 opportunities)

The Early-Career Scholarships are designed to support emerging forestry practitioners, researchers and students to develop their knowledge, professional networks and connection with the wider forestry sector.

Applications are open to:

  • Early-career professionals working in forestry, forest management, natural resource management or a related field
  • Early-career researchers working in forestry or natural resource management
  • Higher degree research students undertaking relevant forestry or natural resource management research

Each scholarship includes:

  • Registration for Forestry Australia's 2026 Symposium, valued at $875
  • Up to $1,500 towards travel, accommodation and other reasonable expenses associated with attending the Symposium
