The Albanese Government is supporting the Thora, Gleniffer and the Bellingen communities with an investment of more than $3.8 million to replace Summervilles Creek Bridge and Summervilles Bridge.
The funding is part of the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program (SLRIP).
The more than $4.9 million project will be funded in partnership with Bellingen Shire Council.
It will replace the two timber bridges with reinforced concrete structures.
Additionally, three kilometres of the existing six-metre-wide unsealed road will be rehabilitated and sealed with bitumen.
The SLRIP was created by the Albanese Government to strengthen investment to support the delivery of safer and more productive roads across Australia, with at least $200 million available each year.
Further projects around Australia are expected to be announced soon.
