Further charges laid following investigations into historical indecent assaults, NSW

Police have laid further charges against a former teacher in relation to historical child indecent assault offences allegedly committed in the 1970s, NSW Police say.

Detectives from Riverina Police District have been conducting extensive investigations into a number of reported historical indecent assault matters.

A 78-year-old man was previously charged with numerous indecent assault offences.

Investigators have been provided with further information from a man who alleges he was assaulted as a student while attending a high school in Wagga.

It’s alleged the incidents occurred during 1972.

Following further inquiries, a 78-year-old man was issued with future court attendance notices for five indecent assaults on a male.

The man is next due to reappear at Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 19 December 2018.

Inquiries into the incidents continue and police believe there may be other people who have information that may assist – they are encouraged to come forward and speak with officers at Wagga Wagga Police District.
