Bayside Council has agreed to undertake a traffic and parking study focused on Gardiner Park that will including Wolli Creek Road, Gardiner Avenue, Railway Street and surrounding streets following a resolution at the Council Meeting on Wednesday 27 August.
The study will seek to identify opportunities to increase parking availability, improve traffic flow and improve safety.
It is expected the study will include intersection traffic counts at key locations, observing pedestrian movements, traffic counts on the surrounding road network and a parking occupancy survey.
The data would be collected on evenings and weekends when the park capacity is at its greatest.
The study, to be undertaken in 2026, will include the peak sporting season at Gardiner Park.
