Gatineau-Side Access to Chaudière Crossing Closed

Public Services and Procurement Canada

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to inform motorists and truck drivers that access to the Chaudière Crossing from the Gatineau side will be closed to accommodate the Tour de Gatineau event, during the following periods:

  • Wednesday, September 16, from 9 am to 3 pm
  • Thursday, September 17, from 9 am to 3 pm

During these periods, vehicles will not be able to access the Chaudière Crossing from Gatineau.

Cars will be redirected to the Portage Bridge or the Alexandra Bridge.

Trucks will be redirected to the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge.

Access to the Chaudière Crossing from the Ottawa side will remain open. However, cars and trucks travelling toward Gatineau will be required to follow the detour route via Laurier Street once they reach Gatineau.

Signage will be installed along the main roadways before the event to inform motorists and truck drivers of the closure and the detours in effect.

The crossing will remain accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.

PSPC encourages users to exercise caution when travelling across the bridge and thanks them for their patience.
